Traditional Homes Pty Ltd is a wholly owned Tasmanian business dedicated to providing cost efficient quality homes, where customers expectations are met and surpassed. The business has been operating for twelve years with over 100 years combined professional building experience at hand.


We have been full members of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) since 1991 and full members of the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association (NKBA) since 1992. We have been awarded winner for the best design and value for money in a Kit Home under 100 m2. Our aim is to design and build a home that truly reflects your lifestyle, personality, budget and future plans.

We offer a complete range of house plans ranging from one story single bedroom cottages to two story five bedroom homes. While we have many plans and designs to choose from we often find that it's more appropriate for us to design your home from scratch so your specific needs can be achieved and the advantages of the land can be incorporated into the design (sun, views, access, slope etc).
An advantage with our computer aided designs (CAD) means that any plans can be changed, expanded or totally re-designed to suit your particular needs.

Helping you with the design may include site visits and some discussions about your requirements also the budget that you want to work within. Once your plan is established the next step is to provide you with a fixed price.

Fixed costings can be to whatever stage you require, such as:

1) Fully completed - where we look after every aspect of the work.
2) Partially complete - to a specified stage and you complete yourself.
3) Kit form - where the kit is supplied and you arrange the building.

This means you know what your home will be like, how it will be finished and what is included and also you will know how much it will cost before you have had to spend any money.

Traditional Homes Pty Ltd enlists the services of professionals in their own field of expertise whether it be plumbing, glazing, electrical, roofing, bricklaying, plastering, concreting, kitchens or bathrooms, and yes, even swimming pools. Whatever your home building requirements, we are truly a "one stop shop".

Our plans and prices have undergone some revision effective from 1st January 2003 to comply with the National Energy Efficiency Code. This code ensures the maximum heat gain and minimum heat loss for your home resulting in minimum heating and cooling costs.

Our prices are for a home on an average suburban block with the services already provided. If you are considering building in an outlying, rural area, considerations may need to be included for an access road, water storage, waste water treatment, telephone and power supply.
